Reviews
If you like long queues and poor customer service then Coles McLaren Vale should be your favourite.
Never enough registers open, trying to force you into self serve.
Glad there’s a Foodland in town. Happy to pay a bit extra for prompt and polite service.
Coles usually leaves a few items out of my click and collect but today they left $40 worth of groceries out with ‘no substitutes available’ giving me no choice but to go into the store where I found all of the ‘unavailable items’.
Shouldn’t be allowed to take any money from people until the order is packed and complete. The utter laziness from staff clearly not looking for items properly is appalling.
It is no longer our preferred store. Coles decided to copy ALDI by sacking butchers etc. Looking at the meat section for example does not install confidence in Coles any longer.
Coles could have avoided the current problem by getting a good CEO and by sourcing more goods locally.
Christine from night fill was extremely unhelpful, rude and unprofessional when asked to locate items. How do you not know when you’re entire adult career is in a supermarket?
Christine was incredibly helpful and I would recommend the McLaren Vale Coles Supermarket to all.
They have 12 self checkouts and only 6 normal ones, of which only 2 or 3 are staffed. The waiting times are too long and I often get directed to the self checkout which I refuse to use.
They also don’t stock very basic items a home cook needs (potato starch for example is not available, only standard flour, etc.)
The meat selection is basic - if you look for anything out of the ordinary, you need to go elsewhere (e.g. liver, etc.).
Overall, a store that I now only use when absolutely necessary.
Staff as usual were efficient and friendly. I used the 12 items or less checkout and was disappointed at being held up more than was reasonable. Not for the first time the assistant was managing not just her checkout but also the cigarette and general enquiries desk. It's not a good look in my opinion to have a line of 4-5 customers looking for a reasonably quick sale only to be held up by tobacco addicts! Not happy and would certainly consider alternatives when intending to buy only a few items!
Coles mclaren Vale my favourite Coles shop. 2nd visit. Still my favourite Coles today shelves not very full. Needs shade over car park and needs to sell pure cream not all thickened by such a large choice. Just a quick shop before Easter. PURE CREAM PLEASE.
A shop trip on a Sunday. Still my favourite Coles but today it was an absolute disaster.
They have decided to move the shop around so not only were the shelves empty but aisles full of staff packing and unpacking and customers wandering around trying to find items. TOTAL DISASTER and not necessary. If they must change the whole shop around then arrange for night fills, it gets bad enough with the normal trolleys staff use for on line shoppers, without staff filling shelves and customers trying to reach things. SORRY COLES NOT GOOD ENOUGH . If I can't shop comfortably at Coles then I'm going to go elsewhere. Your customers SHOULD come FIRST.
A hot fri shop , definitely quieter than usual ,
Still lots of staff filling and tidying but with it being quieter not really a problem. Most shelves were filled with exception of fresh.
Salads almost non existent or didn't look as if it would make it home let alone make it to the exp date. Fruit and veg a let down this week. Also has no one any backbone these days , it's been australia day with celebrations ever since, but now it's being looked down on so coles sells no flags etc.
So all the old immigrants who worked and made this country what it is today can no longer celebrate. Sorry not good enough. I
